Adolf Hitler’s Death

On 30 April 1945, Adolf Hitler committed suicide in his bunker in Berlin. His mistress did the same. Apparently, the Führer shot himself and Eva Braun used cyanide. As per his request, their bodies were taken outside the bunker, and they were burned down with 200 liters of gasoline so they would never be recovered. The few remains were then buried nearby.

On 2nd May, after the arrival of Russian troops in Berlin, Staline gave the order to find Hitler's body. They did and were able to identify it thanks to his dentist's description of his dental crowns. However, for anti U.S. propaganda purposes, Staline chose to keep this a secret and mislead everyone else in thinking the body was not recovered and the Nazi leader may have escaped.

It was the start of rumours according to which the Hitler was hiding thanks to the help of the U.S.... People love mysteries so a great number of theories originate from this. Though confirming Hitler's death, KGB agents kept parts of the Führer's jaws, which have recently been authentified thanks to xrays from 1943...

As there are so many speculations around this, I stuck to the version that is generally accepted by reputed historians. Everyone is free to believe as they wish.
