Bir-Hakeim Bridge

Another spot for amateurs of photography and selfies in Paris: the Bir-Hakeim Bridge is very photogenic due to its metallic structure. And you will also get a great view of the Eiffel Tower.

The Pont Bir-Hakeim connects the area of Passy in the 16th arrondissement of Paris to the 15th district. In other words, the right bank of the Seine to the left bank.

It was built from 1903 to 1905 at the time where the steel industry was booming, following other imposing metallic structures like the Eiffel Tower in 1889, and the Grand Palais in 1900.

The original name Viaduc de Passy was later changed to commemorate the battle of Bir-Hakeim fought in Libya in 1942 during WWII.

Next time you visit Paris, if you run out of places to take great photos, how about this bridge?
