The "Winged Victory of Samothrace" or "Nike of Samothrace" is the masterpiece of ancient Greece at the Louvre. She was found in 1863 by a French archaeologist who brought it to the Louvre where the broken pieces were put together.

Even with her missing head and arms, she embodies Grace. Her movement indicates she is landing on a ship's bow. Sculpted around 200 before Christ, at a time where naval battles were important in the Mediteranean sea, the statue is thought to have been part of a monument dedicated to the Gods for naval victories.
