Notre-Dame de l'Assomption

This is one of many Notre-Dame (Our Lady of...) churches in Paris, not to be confused with the main Notre-Dame Cathedral. Our Lady of the Assumption was the chapel connected to the convent of the same name.

As churches used to be safe havens, many noble ladies sought refuge in that convent during the French Revolution. The convent was then transformed by the army as barracks when the Christian religious practice was terminated.

It has been the Polish Church of Paris since 1844, and has a bronze bust of Pope John Paul 2nd by the entrance.
