Nuremberg Race Laws

On 15 September 1935, two years after reaching power, Hitler and his Nazi Government went one step further in persecuting Jewish people.

The Nuremberg Race Laws now excluded them from citizenship of the Reich. They were mere "subjects" with less civil rights than the rest of the population. It was also prohibited for Jews to marry Germans. Even "physical encounters" were considered illegal!

The intent of the Nazi party was to "protect German blood and German honour". The "Aryan race" was considered pure and these laws would keep it that way... The German advert with the Jewish star reads "Whoever wears this symbol is an enemy of our people"...

The photos were taken at the Shoah memorial in Paris.
