Saint-Louis des Invalides Cathedral - Part II

When you visit the Invalides, the usual way to access the crypt with the tomb of Napoleon is from the "Royal Chapel" on the opposite end of the church I'm showing here and on my previous post.

The "Royal Chapel" is located behind the tall glass panels wall. At the bottom of the glass panels, there are doors connecting the church to the "Royal Chapel", though these doors are normally locked.

On a special visit (I am such a V.I.P.!) I got a chance to access the crypt from the back of the altar, exactly where the priest usually stands, and going through these doors normally closed off.

I seized the opportunity to photograph the door to the "Caveau des Gouverneurs". That's the "Governors' tombs": a crypt dedicated to all the Governors of the Invalides since its creation.

If you would like to see more secrets of the Invalides, I invite you to check out my new custom private tour dedicated to that museum!
