Art Nouveau Building by Alfred Wagon
When Art Nouveau blossomed in the early 1900's, it did not receive the support and appreciation of all art critics. Some mocked this movement and called it "noodle art"... This building was designed by Alfred Wagon in 1905.
This is far from the elegant and refined designs of Master Architect, Hector Guimard. Whenever I show this building, the comments I hear relate more to pastries than architecture!
And then I remember what Salvador Dali said: "the terrifying and 🍽edible beauty of Art Nouveau"...
