U.S. FOUNDING FATHERs in Paris - PARIS walk
“Extraordinary men living in extraordinary times in an extraordinary city…”
During the twelve years leading up to the French Revolution, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson lived in Paris. These great men made history in the United States but also impacted that of France. Why did the American colonies send such high profile ambassadors to Paris?
Let’s walk in the footsteps of these Founding Fathers, along with other figures who took part in the American Revolution: LaFayette, Rochambeau, Thomas Paine, John Paul Jones and more…
You’ll see where they lived, died, had coffee and were even imprisoned! We’ll also explore decisive events such as the Treaty of Independence or the Louisiana Purchase…
Join me on a journey back in time to the American Revolution in Paris!

Thierry is simply a joy! He is passionate and engaging and informed and just what we wanted. He brought history and Paris to life.
Thierry is an expert on the subject. He gives you valuable insight about the French Revolution. If you dislike history, trust me, you will finish this tour loving the drama/dark stories behind the revolution. His storytelling is better than any movie out there. He delivers all these genres: mystery, comedy, drama, and thriller. If you are seeking a life-changing experience tour in France, this is it. If you want to learn about how the French helped the colonies become independent from the British, this is it! One word, AMAZING! As far as Thierry’s performance, he is a fun storyteller who interacts with everyone in the group. He brought his iPad to show us pictures of every founding father, while relating them to their respective building. Merci, Thierry, for bringing each building to life and for taking my pictures that will last a lifetime! I would do this again!
Thierry is a wonderful storyteller, bringing history to life with amazing anecdotes about the people and places that were significant for the American Revolution in Paris. He packs a lot of information into his tour. We also moved through 3 arrondissements, layers of history. He's also great with kids, flexible and fun, speaking with them without speaking down to them. I highly recommend his tour!
Merci beaucoup Thierry for your expertise, enthusiasm and ipad with extra pictures and information. You were thoughtful with our children and we had a very interesting educational adventure learning about the fathers of the American Revolution in Paris.
This was easily the best experience we had on our last trip to Paris. The tour was truly unique and gave my wife and I a fresh perspective on the foundings of our own country! We loved walking the streets of Paris with Thierry as he told us the stories of how various historical figures, French and American, used their positions, proximity to others in power, and unique skills (such as Ben Franklin being unusually charming to the female elite in France well into his 70s ...) to move forward the principals and ideals they all shared. Given the opportunity, I suggest all parents (in the US) un-enroll their children from their public education history courses and instead send them to Paris to go on this tour. Literally can not say enough good things - we will absolutely be back for more.
Thierry was super-engaging. He told stories as though he was acting out and we felt part of it. My children were engaged and loved him. He interacted beautifully with my children ages 11, 13, and 16. He was so nice to be with and made us feel comfortable. We felt like we knew him forever. He even took fabulous pictures of us all the way along the journey.
Thierry was captivating, funny, and friendly. He knew his topic backwards and forwards, answered all our questions, and even threw in some extra trivia and anecdotes between stops. Highly recommended if you like history!
We truly enjoyed Thierry's style of story telling. We came with an open mind as he took us back in time and reintroduce to us our US founding fathers and their relationship with France. It is exciting to hear their adventures here in France and the odd/unique/bold moves they did to survive. Thierry through the used of his ipad had prepared a slideshow of pictures as we move from place to place to show us events, paintings, photos of the what took place. His style of story telling has provoked me to do more readings and to come back to Paris and visit other sites as well. We definitely recommend Thierry to everyone who wishes to visit Paris.
His passion and research on the subject were evident. We can away with some new knowledge about French involvement in the revolutionary war and some informative tidbits!
We loved this tour! Thierry engaged us with his stories that he obviously was very passionate toward. We Learned a lot and had a wonderful time!!
If you’re an American visiting Paris, you have to do this tour! Thierry is very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about history. There’s so much of the American Revolutionary War that took place here in Paris that I had never learned about. It was cool to visit the actual buildings, to walk into the very cafe Ben Franklin hung out in.
Thank you again, Thierry. We throughly enjoyed learning about American history in beautiful Paris and how the United States' and France's past were intertwined in very specific and pertinent ways. Thierry brought the history to light and clarified the relationships between each entity involved in the French and the American revolution -including the British. So much history and treks to many landmarks easily missed without a knowledgable guide. A must for history buffs!
