Anne Franck Garden in Paris

Anne Franck was born on 12 June 1929, the date of her death is unknown as she died in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. The "Diary of Anne Franck" is a must-read for anyone interested in WWII history.

Her diary was written while her family was hiding in Amsterdam before their arrest and deportation to Nazi Germany. In 2007, the city of Paris paid hommage to Anne Franck by giving her name to the park that is next to the Museum of Jewish Art and History in the Marais.

In the park, you will see a young chestnut tree which grew from a graft of the actual one Anne Franck looked at from her attic window. The chestnut tree is an important part of her diary... Have you ever read Anne Franck's diary?

On a side note, I find it sad and disrespectful the Paris gardens staff do not bother cleaning off regularly the panel paying hommage to Anne Franck.
