Bernard Pivot - Tribute

A sincere tribute to the great Bernard Pivot who passed away this month (May 2024). Bernard Pivot was the host of two long-running TV shows "Apostrophe" and "Bouillon de Culture", both about books.

On a personal note, during the fourteen years I spent in New York City, I never missed his show "Bouillon de Culture" which aired on CUNY TV I reckon. It was my weekly meeting with my homeland but also with litterature and culture.

I was a bookworm from age 7, so Bernard Pivot was always inspiring. He could sit down with any great writer from any country and discuss very deep subject matters, yet it never sounded like a lecture. His talent was to make litterature and culture accessible to anyone.

There are very few figures that can federate all in spite of social origin, class, political views, religions, etc... Bernard Pivot was one of them. I hope he finds many more books to read up there. May he rest and read in peace.
