Carnavalet - Destroyed Statues of Kings

During the phase of the French Revolution known as the terror, statues of Kings Henri IV, Louis XIII, Louis XIV (two of them) and Louis XV were smashed to pieces in Paris...

If you visit the Carnavalet museum, you can see parts of three of these statues. After the restoration of Monarchy in 1815, most statues of kings were recreated and still stand.
