Changing of the Flag on La Fayette’s Tomb in Paris on 4th July

The spirit of the Marquis de Lafayette is alive and well thanks to the American Friends of Lafayette who keep his memory alive over two centuries later!

I have been made a member of this society thanks to fellow Americans who kindly invited me to the annual ceremony honouring the great Marquis with the changing of the flag on his tomb. And they even brought me welcome gifts! This is Christmas in July!

I spent two days with many wonderful members of this organisation, celebrating the life and contributions of Lafayette. A major thanks to Susan Joy, her husband Marc and their friends for the incredible and memorable time together!
