D-Day - Operation Overlord
Remembering 6 June 1944: DDay, or "Jour J" in French. The Allied Forces landed in Normandy. First day of the Operation Overlord that changed the course of WWII.
General Dwight Eisenhower was in charge of coordinating some 150,00 troops composed in majority of American, British and Canadian soldiers along with some French, Polish, Belgian, Dutch, Czech and Norwegian soldiers.
This was to be the largest seaborne invasion in history. During the months of June, July and August, over two million Allied troops landed in northern France.
