First Hot Air Balloon Flight with Passengers
Benjamin Franklin was the happiest man in Paris! His whole life, he had been interested in sciences, contributing to progress with his experiments on electricity among other things.
Since his arrival in Paris in December 1776, Dr Franklin as the French called him, followed the works of many scientists toying with the idea of flying! Earlier that year, the Montgolfier brothers succeeded in sending their hot air balloon up in the air.
This time, on 21 November 1783, the Montgolfier balloon took off with two people onboard! Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier and François Laurent d'Arlandes were the first men to experience this in the history of mankind.
I'm willing to bet the upcoming series on the life of Franklin in Paris will include a scene showing the hot air ballons!
