German Armies Entered Paris!

14 June 1940, German armies entered Paris! Within days prior to that, two out of the three millions residents had already left the capital as the enemy was moving fast.

The French government had left as well and Paris had been declared an open city with the hope it would not be bombed.

The city of Paris was not damaged but the humiliating defeat caused a lot more damage. The Great Napoleon had said "The only battle you can lose is the one you're not willing to fight"...
