Henry IV’ Assassination - Plaque
Two commemorative plaques for the "good King" Henri IV! The one in the middle of the street indicates where he was assassinated, stabbed by a man named Ravaillac who acted upon religious motives.
Henri's coat of arms was made up of two designs:
- On the left, three fleur de lis, symbol of the French monarchy. It also echoes the Holy Trinity.
- On the right, the orle of chains linked together was the symbol of the Kingdom of Navarre. Prior to being the King of France, Henri was already the monarch of the Navarre province.
