Hôtel de Lamoignon / Historical Library of Paris
For the Heritage Days Week-End, I headed to the Historical Library of Paris (Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris). Where else? I am in heaven wherever there are books, maps, old stones, etc...
I was riveted to two Librarians who gave lectures on old maps of Paris: one dated 1789 prior to the French Revolution and one dated 1889, showing the transformation of Paris after the Industrial Revolution.
Both maps being of very imposing sizes - they both covered an entire wall - it made it very easy to follow the comments of the Librarians. They made my day!
I also like the contemporary decor of some of the rooms within a place that originates from the 1500's... Worth visiting for history buffs and Paris lovers!
