Joan of Arc Statue

Steps away from the Louvre Museum and the Tuileries Gardens, on Rue de Rivoli, stands the golden statue of Jeanne d'Arc, riding her horse in her shiny armor! What a story! A prophecy announcing a young maiden will come to save France ; a disputed crown ; an occupied country ; a war that seemed to never end ; and a century later the maiden appears!

The young lady grew up hearing voices. Saints spoke to her and gave her a mission. She convinced enough people to take her to the French Dauphin (heir to the throne) whom she persuaded to let her lead an army to liberate France...

And that is just a brief overview! Along the way, there were so many extraordinary and unexplainable events that encouraged the King and many others to believe and rally Jeanne. Of course, when it comes to miracles, some would rather find a rational explanation... Do you believe in Joan of Arc's story?
