La Durée "Macarons"

For your eyes only, a last picture of 2023 Christmas decorations as they are now all gone. This is the La Durée shop at the corner of Rue Bonaparte and Rue Jacob in the 6th which I pass during my tour about the American Founding Fathers in Paris.

In all honesty, I was never big on macarons so I will be fair and not too harsch on this institution that is La Durée. Personnally, I find them a bit too sweet, and more so than they used to be. I think most French people prefer their sweets not to be... too sweet!

What do you think? Do you like their macarons? Have you compared them with those from other pastry makers? Which do you prefer?
