Museum of the Liberation of Paris - Part 1
The Museum of the Liberation of Paris was inaugurated in 2019. It is a great complement to the already existing Museum of the Order of the Liberation located within the Invalides Military Museum.
This new museum takes you through the four years of the occupation of France by Nazi Germany, the dark aspects of the collaboration of the Vichy Government and its leader Maréchal Pétain.
There is a great section on the emergence and organization of the Resistance by Charles de Gaulle and Jean Moulin as well as lesser known members of the different networks and up to the liberation of Paris in August 1944 with Philippe de Hauteclocque aka General Leclerc.
Please read the second post about the great part of this museum...
