Napoleon - Comedie Française Reform

On 15 October 1812, Napoleon issued a decree organizing the Comedie Française. His decree dealt with all the aspects related to the functionning of an art theater: Its financial and administrative structure ; the way it was managed and by whom ; how the proceeds were divied up and benefits redistributed.

It also dealt with the artistic choice and how they were agreed upon ; the way comedians were part of a society ; even their retirement was planned out! If you care for gender equality, Article 89 states: there shall be 18 students, 9 of each gender!

101 articles laid everything out so perfectly, that over two centuries later, they remain unchanged... And the mind blowing thing: this was written as Napoleon was retreating from Russia, in the midst of his worse military campaign. How can a normal human being keep his cool at such time?
