Philarmonie de Paris - Heavy Metal Exhibition

Behold the Guillotine! And it's still dripping with blood! Has France just reestablished the death sentence? And who was recently beheaded?

None of that happened! This is the guillotine used by Mister Alice Cooper himself! His stage weapon has just been displayed for the most unusual exhibition I have ever seen in Paris: "Diabolus in Musica" - an expo about Heavy Metal Music, and mind you, it was held at the Philarmonie de Paris!!!

I still have a soft spot for the bands and artists I loved as a teen and in particular those who were theatrical like Alice Cooper ; David Bowie ; and KISS!... So I had to see this exhibition which acknowledged the musical contribution of such acts that used to be frowned upon by the critics of the Rock establishment.

The bass guitar that looks like an axe belongs to Gene Simmons of KISS! What a cool design! The fiery motorcycle belongs to Rob Halford of Judas Priest. Alice Cooper's guillotine was a treat since there are no guillotines on display in any of the Paris museums! That is a real pity as it is a piece of history, so thank God for Heavy Metal! Rock on! And off with their heads...
