Protestant Temple in the Marais
Protestant Temples are usually closed outside of worship services unlike Catholic Churches which are open all day for anyone to visit. So this year, I seized the opportunity of the Heritage Days to visit the place!
Originally built as a Catholic Church in 1634, during the French Revolution, it was used as a storage space for archives and books until 1802 when Napoleon assigned it to the Protestant Cult.
It has two beautiful cupolas decorated with sculpted motifs and frescos. As always with Protestant Temples, the decor is very minimal so the organ and pulpit are nothing but ostentatious.
