Square Louvois by Louis Visconti
A little park and a fountain, with a bit of green and water, you have nature in the city. Add the touch of a maestro architect like Louis Visconti and the magic operates!
This is Square Louvois, named after one of the ministers of Louis XIV. This is the previous location of the Opera house which was replaced by the current Opéra Garnier within the same area.
The four statues on the Louvois fountain represent the four largest rivers of France: the Seine, the Loire, the Garonne and the Saône. One excuse to stop by this park is visiting the newly renovated National Library in the neighborhood.
